We have an excellent lineup of speakers and topics for the annual student workshop in Syracuse from 12:30-5 p.m. on Friday at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
The speakers this year: Michael Whitley of the Los Angeles Times, Adrian Norris of The Globe and Mail (Toronto), Andrea Zagata of The Buffalo News, Rob Schneider of The Dallas Morning News and Josh Crutchmer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
The symposium is sponsored by the Society for News Design Foundation and will also feature a student critique session. We?ll also offer an awesome door prize: one free registration to the SND annual workshop in Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 7-9.

BIOS
Michael Whitley is Assistant Managing Editor for the Los Angeles Times. He is reading ?A Dance with Dragons? right now so do NOT talk to him about spoilers.
Andrea Zagata is a designer in The Buffalo News sports department. She spent two years at The Detroit News after graduating from Michigan State University and interning at the Los Angeles Times. She lives with her dog, Freckles, who wears boots in the winter.
Adrian Norris?is an award-winning creative director who believes passionately that intelligent and thoughtful design leads to stronger business results. He has used this approach in newspaper, website and magazine design, working for The Sunday Times, The Times, The South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, Times Supplements Ltd., and The Globe and Mail in Toronto.
Rob Schneider is Presentation Director for The Dallas Morning News. He is currently President of SND.
Josh Crutchmer is news design director at the Minneapolis Star Tribune. His recent work has been honored by SND and Pictures of the Year International. He was the SND33 print competition coordinator.
